Picture This 2009

This sequel ‘Picture This’ photographic competition once again aimed to capture the public’s passion for Letchworth Garden City. Tasked with photographing Letchworth Garden City’s landmark buildings and environmental features, the competition attracted 80 entrants, each submitting up to three photographs.

Launched during the spring of 2009, the competition was open to all, with a total prize fund of £650 up for grabs.

The quality of entries was very high, and although many photographs displayed the same landmarks, each had its own individual style, making it extremely hard to select the winners. The competition closed in June 2009, with an exhibition of entries to be held as part of Heritage Open Days on the weekend of the 12th & 13th September, at The Spirella Building.

With so many top quality photographs, the task of selecting a winner fell to a group of independent photography enthusiasts. Following a number of hours of deliberating and review, thirteen winners were selected, each winning a £50 gift voucher at the Garden City retailer of their choice - and 'prime positions' in Letchworth Garden City's 2010 calendar.
